Phil Murphy’s March 18 signing of S. 121, inspired by the #MeToo movement amid explosive sexual misconduct allegations against high-profile celebrities and entrepreneurs, gives employees control over whether or not the details of their claims can become public. That means defendants seeking to preserve their career prospects in the absence of a nondisclosure agreement are likely to try their chances at getting absolved at trial, employment attorneys said after the law’s passage.
