Patricia Barbarito Featured in 2024 New Jersey Super Lawyers Magazine Cover Story

Einhorn Barbarito is proud to announce that co-managing partner Patricia “Pat” Barbarito is featured on the cover of the 2024 edition of New Jersey Super Lawyers® Magazine, published by Thomson Reuters, in the feature story “It’s All About Evolving: Six perennial listees talk about how the law has changed in the past 20 years.”

Pat has been named to the Super Lawyers list for 20 consecutive years and has been included for 10 years in the publication’s “Top 100 New Jersey Super Lawyers” and for 19 years in the publication’s “Top 50 Women New Jersey Super Lawyers” lists.

“I am honored to be featured on the cover of New Jersey Super Lawyers Magazine with five other esteemed colleagues of the New Jersey bar,” Pat said. “I have grown so much in the past 43 years personally and professionally, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to share my perspective.”

Reflecting on the past 20 of her 43 years in practice, Pat discussed how family law has changed. “There is more alternate dispute resolution, which means that, as lawyers, we have to focus on being strategists and strategizing cases to resolve them,” she said in the cover story.

Pat also reflected on how the legal industry has changed over the past 20 years. “When I started out, it was necessary to be in the office six days a week. But because of technology and innovation, lawyers work as hard, but they work differently,” the article said.

Thanks to her generation, younger generations enjoy better work-life balance, she said. “The practice has evolved to permit some boundaries and some balance. And I think that’s a positive change.”

Asked for her advice as to the next generation of attorneys, Pat said that “there is sacrifice in a long-term career. If immediate gratification is what you expect, that’s not something that this business will give you.”

Admitted to the New Jersey bar in 1981, Pat joined Einhorn Barbarito when the firm had just three attorneys. She has been integral to developing the firm’s multi-faceted and prominent practice areas and is regarded as a thought leader in New Jersey family law. She is also an innovator who embraces new avenues of communication, creating and hosting her podcast “Heartbreak & Hope” where she offers insights, guidance and stories about love, marriage and divorce from experts and her own experience.
