Jaime Herrera is Counsel in the firm’s Trusts & Estates/Taxation Group where she advises high-net-worth individuals and families on sophisticated, tax-efficient strategies across estate planning, charitable giving, and business succession matters. She takes a tailored, client-centered approach to each matter, focusing on each client’s personal, philanthropic and business objectives while minimizing their tax exposure. She also applies her litigation experience in connection with contested matters and fiduciary litigation.
In addition to her trusts and estates work, Jaime regularly forms domestic and foreign LLCs, drafts operating agreements, and identifies and resolves complex issues affecting closely held businesses. She also partners with local counsel to navigate multistate tax considerations when necessary.
Jaime received her J.D., cum laude, from Rutgers School of Law and clerked for the Hon. Mitchell E. Oster in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division. She then served four years as an Assistant Deputy Public Defender in the Appellate Section of the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender. Jaime also earned her LL.M. in Taxation from the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law.
