Richard H. Weiner brings more than 43 years of experience representing executives, business owners, professionals, and their spouses in complex family law matters. Widely respected throughout New Jersey for his strategic, practical, and results-driven approach, Richard guides clients through high-stakes divorce and family law disputes involving substantial assets, closely held businesses, executive compensation, and sophisticated financial issues. He previously served as Managing Shareholder of Aronsohn Weiner Salerno & Kaufman P.C. for the past 35 years.
Since 2023, Richard has been recognized by the Chambers High Net Worth Family/Matrimonial Guide, placing him statewide among a select group of only five New Jersey family lawyers ranked by Chambers. The guide identifies and ranks leading professional advisors serving the private wealth market.
A significant portion of Richard’s practice involves matters requiring careful analysis of business interests, complex asset structures, and separate property claims arising from premarital ownership, gifts, and inheritances. He is particularly skilled at helping clients understand the financial implications of divorce and developing strategies to protect their long-term interests. Whether representing high net worth individuals or clients with more modest financial circumstances, Richard is committed to providing thoughtful counsel, strong advocacy, and individualized attention.
Richard also represents clients in mediation, arbitration, and negotiated resolutions involving divorce, alimony, child support, custody and parenting time, equitable distribution, and related family law matters. He has also regularly been appointed by the Courts to serve as Mediator/Arbitrator in high conflict family law matters. In his role as Mediator or Arbitrator, he assists parties and counsel in navigating contentious financial and custody related issues, resolving discovery disputes, and moving cases toward efficient resolution.
He also advises individuals and couples in the negotiation and preparation of Prenuptial Agreements, helping them establish clear expectations and protect important financial interests before marriage.
Recognized by the courts for his judgment, no-nonsense approach, and ability to resolve complex disputes, his experience on both sides of the negotiating table provides valuable insight that benefits clients seeking favorable outcomes through settlement or trial.
In addition to his family law practice, Richard has significant experience handling complex business and estate litigation matters. His broader litigation background enhances his ability to address disputes involving closely held businesses, fiduciary issues, and substantial financial interests that often arise in high-asset family law cases.

Client Testimonials
“From handling my divorce for me expeditiously to continuing to network contact to my entire family’s benefits, Rich was and always will be there for us.” Meri
“One of the Top Attorneys in Bergen County as well as all of New Jersey. I highly recommend Rich Weiner above all others.” R. S.
“Rich breaks the mold. Works nights, weekends, and holidays to keep the ball moving. Very happy with the handling of my divorce from start to finish. Would recommend to all, and I usually stay away from recommendations.” Lee D.
“I endorse Attorney Weiner. We were adversaries on a matter and I found him to be reasonable while strongly advocating for his client. We were able to settle the case to both parties’ satisfaction. I look forward to working with him again.” Melissa C.
“Excellent law firm. Partner Rich Weiner came highly recommended as well as attorney Patricia Ferraro. They were knowledgeable, thorough, diligent and understanding in guiding me through one of the toughest times in my life, producing the best possible outcome for my case. One of my smartest decisions was having them represent me and I would say if you are thinking of using this law firm feel confident that your best interest is their number one priority.” Lisa N.
“It’s hard to say enough about Richard. I clerked in the Family Part in Bergen County back in 1996 for the Hon. Donald W. de Cordova, JSC (ret), and Richard was legendary. I was told by the outgoing clerk to save copies of everything he filed as it would be great study materials. At oral argument, he was one (among VERY few) who could persuade my judge to change his mind at oral argument – tops. I seriously considered moving to Bergen County (I commuted from Mercer) so I could work for Richard. He’s been my standard referral for Bergen cases since then. If I needed a Bergen County attorney personally and could afford him, I’d retain him in a heartbeat. Top marks!” David Perry Davis
“While no one wants to go through a divorce, being prepared with an attorney who knows the process and the players in your specific court is essential. Rich fought hard for the things most important to me and was very practical in all matters throughout the process. He made an ugly situation end in an acceptable way. He was always available and as a bonus, is a very nice guy.” John R.
“Finished my divorce case earlier this year and wanted to thank Rich Weiner and Patty Ferraro for going the extra yard for me. Their work with the forensic accountant that we selected proved to be the difference. They quickly were able to really understand my family business and no way was the other side nearly as educated on issues of value at any point in the process. I would not hesitate to recommend either attorney to any of my friends.” Roger P.
“My attorney, Rich Weiner displayed the utmost professionalism throughout my divorce process and I was very happy with my settlement, thanks to his shrewd negotiating. His entire staff is lovely to work with and showed care and concern for my wellbeing the entire time. I recommend Rich and his team wholeheartedly!” Ellen C.
“During one of the most difficult times of my life, I was able to rely on the deep expertise and outstanding judgment of Richard Weiner and Patricia Ferraro. As my case took unexpected turns, I could count on my attorneys to offer their sound guidance and advice to achieve the resolution of many issues. Most important to me, on a personal level, throughout this stressful event, Richard and Patricia demonstrated their kindness, compassion, and caring for me on many occasions. I would highly recommend them without any hesitation or reservation.” Sheri M.
“I used Richard Weiner for a case to represent my family business about two months ago. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable and seemed to know everyone in the courthouse. It really eased my mind to put my case in his hands. I would highly recommend him to all my friends. I was initially recommended to him because one of the executives in my company used him in a family law matter and thought he was practical yet no nonsense.” Elizabeth R.
