Jacob Narva is Counsel in the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Employment Practice Groups where he advises clients on commercial and corporate matters and litigates complex commercial issues in state and federal, trial and appellate courts. He also represents clients in connection with contract disputes involving a diverse number of subject matters. Jacob has also served as outside general counsel for several companies ranging from national corporations to closely-held businesses, on a range of matters including risk mitigation in their daily operations.
A former criminal prosecutor, Jacob is adept at conducting fact-intensive investigations, interviews and negotiations on behalf of his clients. Clients appreciate his clear explanations of their legal positions and his ability to develop strategies that minimize vulnerabilities while aligning with their business goals. A skilled trial lawyer, he has experience conducting thorough investigations, including reviewing client records, subpoenaing relevant parties and non-parties, interviewing party witnesses and conducting depositions and cross-examinations.
Jacob values the importance of communication in client relationships and provides strategic legal analysis and substantive recommendations in a professional, reliable and personable manner. With experience in tax and estate planning, commercial real estate transactions, and employment matters, he works across practice areas at Einhorn Barbarito, connecting clients with colleagues for their counsel on business and personal matters as needed.
After earning his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, Jacob was selected for a one-year fellowship serving directly under the Attorney General for the District of Columbia. He then served for four years as an Assistant Attorney in the Criminal Division of the Office of the Attorney General of the District of Columbia litigating matters, coordinating with local and federal law enforcement agencies, drafting and arguing motions, and preparing witnesses for trial. Since 2017, and prior to joining Einhorn Barbarito, Jacob practiced civil and commercial litigation in New Jersey.
