Einhorn, Barbarito, Frost, Botwinick, Nunn & Musmanno, PC Welcomes Back to the Firm the Hon. David H. Ironson (Ret.) as Of Counsel and Chair of Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice

Judge David IronsonEinhorn, Barbarito, Frost, Botwinick, Nunn & Musmanno, PC, is pleased to announce that the Hon. David H. Ironson (Ret.) has rejoined the firm as Of Counsel after serving on the New Jersey Superior Court in Morris County. As Chair of the firm’s Alternative Dispute Resolution practice, he focuses on mediation and arbitration proceedings to efficiently resolve complex issues for clients.

For 17 years until his retirement from the bench in 2025, Judge Ironson served on the New Jersey Superior Court in Morris County in both the Civil and Criminal Divisions of the Court. He was appointed to the bench in 2008 by former Governor Jon Corzine and went on to preside over numerous civil and criminal jury trials. He has served as chair of the Supreme Court Committee on Jury Selection in Civil and Criminal Trials and as co-chair of the internal Working Group on Juror Impartiality. For 22 years prior to his judicial service, Judge Ironson practiced as a civil litigator. He joined Einhorn in 1991 and was selected in 1994 to lead the Personal Injury Practice at the firm later to be known as Einhorn, Harris, Ascher, Barbarito, Frost & Ironson. Judge Ironson was subsequently Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney. Prior to serving on the bench, Judge Ironson was a Trustee, Executive Board Member, and Co-Chair of the Civil Trial Practice Committee of the Morris County Bar Association.

“This marks a homecoming to the firm I departed on January 4, 2008, upon being sworn in as a Judge of the New Jersey Superior Court in Morris County. It is a thrill to return to Einhorn Barbarito, particularly at a time of continued growth,” said Judge Ironson.

Botwinick, Co-Managing Partner and Co-Chair of the firm’s Wills, Trusts & Estates and Taxation practices. “We are delighted to welcome him back to the firm as Chair of the Alternative Dispute Resolution practice and look forward to the insights he brings with him after a distinguished tenure on the bench.”

Patricia M. Barbarito, Chair of the Einhorn Barbarito Board of Directors and Co-Managing Partner of the firm, added, “It is a tremendous honor to have Judge Ironson return to the firm. Matheu D. Nunn, a Partner and Board Member of the firm who co-chairs the firm’s Family/Matrimonial Practice and co-chairs its general Appellate Practice, said, “Prior to joining the firm, I appeared before Judge Ironson quite often as a prosecutor. He has solidly earned a reputation for his integrity, fairness and knowledge of the law.”

Judge Ironson received his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Maryland. After graduating from law school, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Arnold M. Stein, J.S.C., Chancery, General Equity. Judge Stein and Theodore E. B. Einhorn were the founding partners of the Einhorn firm.
