Bonnie Frost Named Chair of the Disciplinary Review Board (DRB)

The Disciplinary Review Board of the Supreme Court of New Jersey (Board or DRB) serves as the intermediate appellate level of the attorney disciplinary system in the State of New Jersey. The Board reviews all recommendations for discipline from the district ethics committees, special masters and the Office of Attorney Ethics. When an attorney is brought before the board on an ethics complaint, the DRB privately about the appropriate outcome of each case, and votes for either dismissal of the complaint or for the imposition of one of several forms of discipline: admonition, reprimand and censure (letter or decision detailing the attorney’s misconduct; admonition being the least serious, censure being the most serious); suspension (period of time during which the attorney is prohibited from practicing law); and disbarment (permanent loss of license to practice law in New Jersey).
Ms. Frost concentrates her practice solely in matrimonial and family law including working at the appellate level to assist her clients. She has been awarded the 2012 Saul Tischler Award for Lifetime Achievement in Family Law. Bonnie has also authored various works in the area of family law including The Women’s Legal Rights Booklet. She also co- authored the State Bar, Family Law Section’s Position Paper on Matrimonial Law in 1997. In addition to being a member of the State Bar Family Law Executive Committee since 1994 and its past chair from 2005-2006, Bonnie is a Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney, Fellow of The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
She has been a member of the Disciplinary Review Board for the past seven years prior to her appointment as chair. The State Bar has also recognized her contributions to its legislative efforts by awarding her the Distinguished Legislative Service Award in 2008. The Morris County Bar Association honored her with the Morris County Special Service Award in 2006. Bonnie has been instrumental in writing six amicus curiae briefs on behalf of the State Bar and has argued more than 200 cases at the appellate level, of which 17 are published.
