Andy Berns To Speak At The Certified Court Reporters Association Of New Jersey Annual Meeting

Andrew S. Berns, Chair of the firm’s Employment and Commercial Litigation groups, is speaking at the Certified Court Reporters Association of New Jersey (CCRA-NJ) Annual Meeting on March 23, 2019, at the Doubletree Hilton Newark Airport Hotel. Andy’s presentation is entitled “Important Updates on the New Jersey Department of Labor Audits of Court Reporters, and the Status of Jersey Shore Reporting, LLC v NJ Dept. of Labor and Workforce Development” and will focus on the legislative history of classifying workers as employees or independent contractors. Andy has been practicing employment law for more than 30 years, and represents management and employers, often performing independent workplace investigations of employee complaints. On the employee side, he has vigorously represented employees who fall victim to discrimination or harassment in the workplace. In recognition of his litigation practice, Andy has been selected to the New Jersey Super Lawyers list each year since 2013. In addition, he served as Chair of the New Jersey State Ethics Commission from 2010- 2017.
