$285,000 Settlement For Injuries Sustained Upon Tripping Into a Cellar Door on a Commercial Sidewalk

Christopher L. Musmanno, a personal injury attorney with Einhorn, Barbarito, Frost, Botwinick, Nunn & Musmanno, PC, reached a settlement in the case of a Plaintiff, a 82-year old woman, who was injured as she was walking over a cellar door located on a commercial sidewalk. As she stepped on one of the cellar doors, it sunk and opened, thereby creating a tripping hazard with respect to the other side of the door, causing her to trip and fall. As a result of the accident, she fractured several bones in her face and injured her lower back. After a failed course of physical therapy, chiropractic management and injection therapy, she ultimately underwent surgery to her lower back. The case settled for a total of $285,000.
