$2.5 Million Settlement for Slip and Fall Injury on Wet Floor of a Gym

Christopher L. Musmanno, personal injury attorney with Einhorn, Barbarito, Frost, Botwinick, Nunn & Musmanno, PC, reached a settlement in the case of a Plaintiff, age 54, who was entering the vestibule of a gym that had been recently mopped. The floor had not dried, and the employees of the gym had placed a rug/mat to cover the wet floor. When Plaintiff entered the vestibule, the rug/mat slipped on the wet floor and caused him to slip and fall hard onto his right shoulder. As a result of this accident, he sustained significant injuries that required five surgical shoulder procedures. Moreover, because his injuries prevented him from working in his job as a nurse, he was forced to retire early from his career. The case settled for a total amount of $2,500,000.00.
