The firm’s logo and website have been modernized and redesigned to align with the firm’s new name, brand, and professional identity.
“We continue to build a firm that evolves in step with the needs of our clients’ businesses and families,” said Co-Managing Partner Patricia M. Barbarito, who also serves as Chair of the Board of the firm, which has 31 attorneys and 34 staff. “With our lawyers and staff, we continue to grow our practice areas to provide full-service support to clients across the New Jersey/New York metro area,” added Barbarito. “Our goals and values are to uphold, or, when required, help to change laws to protect our clients every step of the way. Our new brand illustrates that we are mindful and respectful of our history, conscious of the present and looking forward to the future.”
“The practice of law is always changing, as are the challenges facing families and businesses in everything from estate planning to custody agreements to zoning to employment policies. Our new brand is reflective of the mindset and creativity required to help clients identify and meet ever evolving issues,” said Gary R. Botwinick, Co-Managing Partner of the firm and Chair of the Taxation, Trusts & Estates Department. “From an operational standpoint, too, our firm has changed. We are highly attuned to our clients’ expanding needs and offer innovative services such as our On-Call for Business group, a cost-efficient way for small businesses to essentially have a virtual in-house lawyer on call when needed.”
Barbarito adds, “As we look ahead, we recognize that our clients reflect a cross-section of society that has a panoply of individual and business issues on a daily basis. Our job is to provide our clients with a talented and collaborative team that evolves to suit their expectations and individual needs. Our new brand is symbolic of that responsibility as well as our excitement for the future of the firm.”
The firm’s multi-disciplinary team of attorneys leverages experience in areas of concentration including business and corporate matters, employment law, commercial litigation, personal injury and workers’ compensation, family and matrimonial matters, real estate and zoning issues, estate planning, special education, assisted living issues, criminal law, and tax law, and the firm has a strong appellate practice that touches on a variety of legal issues.
Barbarito first worked at the firm as a summer associate during her second year of law school in 1980, when the firm had only three attorneys. Upon graduating from Seton Hall, she joined the firm as an associate and quickly progressed to partner after only four years. Her commitment to the firm and her clients was recognized further when she became Managing Partner nearly 20 years ago. Botwinick joined the firm in 1998 and was named Co-Managing Partner earlier this year.
Added Barbarito, “I am delighted to share this responsibility with Gary, who has exponentially grown the firm’s reputation as a leader in the fields of trust and estate law and tax law and has contributed greatly to the operations of the firm.”
As a founding partner in 1961, Theodore E.B. Einhorn had set up a general practice, and, according to Barbarito, “he set the bar high for the practice of law. Professionalism, kindness, inclusion, collegiality, respect and loyalty have been and will always be our foundation from which we build our future with vision and clarity.”
Partner and Chair of the firm’s Appellate Practice Group Bonnie Frost added, “Moreover, our firm’s founders had the confidence to place women in roles of decision-making and judgment. Still, today there are not enough women holding law firm management positions. Pat and I are proud to be leaders in the legal industry, and we believe in mentoring younger lawyers to build their skills in litigation, negotiation, management and service to our industry and our community.”
“As a woman who began her legal career at a time when few women were being hired, Bonnie is the personification of intellect and professionalism,” said Barbarito. Frost is the author of 24 published decisions and has participated in or authored eight Amicus Briefs for the New Jersey State Bar and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Botwinick added, “By her exemplary professional conduct, her thorough understanding of the nuances of family law, her teaching and her participation in the administration of the attorney accountability system, Bonnie has had a great impact in the advancement of professionalism and ethics in New Jersey.”
