Christopher L. Musmanno Secures $1.2 Million in Four Separate Motor Vehicle Collision Settlements

Christopher L. Musmanno, Chair of the Accidents/Personal Injury practice and a Certified Civil Trial Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey, secured a combined $1.2 million in settlements on behalf of four individuals who suffered serious injuries in separate motor vehicle collisions involving unsafe driving behaviors, including an improper left turn, failure to stop at a stop sign, an unsafe lane change, and a rear end collision.

“These collisions occurred under very different circumstances, but they shared one common thread: each was preventable,” said Musmanno. “Whether a driver fails to yield, ignores a stop sign, drifts from a travel lane, or follows too closely, a momentary lapse can leave someone else facing months of treatment, surgery, and an uncertain recovery. Understanding the full impact of those injuries is central to achieving a fair resolution.”

In one matter, a 69-year-old woman was injured when another driver turned left directly into the path of her vehicle. She underwent two shoulder surgeries and knee surgery before the case resolved for $300,000.

A second case involved a 60-year-old man whose vehicle was struck after another driver failed to stop at a stop sign. After conservative treatment and spinal injections failed to relieve his symptoms, he underwent lower back surgery. The matter settled for $300,000.

In another case, a 31-year-old passenger sustained injuries to his knee, shoulder, and neck when a truck drifted from its lane and struck the passenger side of the vehicle in which he was riding. He required shoulder and knee surgery. The case settled for $250,000.

The fourth matter involved a 40-year-old woman whose vehicle was rear-ended while stopped in traffic. She suffered injuries to her neck and lower back that ultimately required surgical procedures to both areas. The case settled for $350,000.

The four matters settled for a combined total of $1.2 million.
