$225,000 Settlement For Pedestrian Accident

Plaintiff, presently sixty-nine (69) years of age was a pedestrian, walking through the parking lot after leaving church services. Defendant struck Plaintiff as she was attempting to pull out of a parking space, veering left. As contained in the business record of the police report, Defendant told responding police that she never saw Plaintiff. The police officer attributed the accident to Defendant due to her driver inattention. As a result of this accident, Plaintiff sustained the following injuries a fracture of the right knee requiring open reduction and internal fixation with placement of titanium rods and screws; right knee lateral meniscus repair; and a fracture of the left wrist. Plaintiff remained in-patient in the hospital for over a week and was then transferred to a rehabilitation facility for another two weeks. The case settled for a total amount of $ 225,000.00.
