$100,000 Settlement For Pedestrian Struck By Motor Vehicle

Plaintiff, presently seventy-six (76) years of age was  a pedestrian crossing a busy street. There was heavy stop and go rush hour traffic and there was a gap in the traffic. At the time and place aforesaid, defendant, was operating a vehicle.  Plaintiff was under the impression that Defendant saw him crossing, however, he was struck on the left knee, causing serious damage to the left knee, which he  had replaced approximately a year earlier. Plaintiff suffered extensive damage to the pre-existing left knee prosthetic necessitating complete removal of this pre-existing hardware, a new total left knee replacement and quadriceps tendon repair surgery. Due to pre-existing conditions and liability issues, the case settled for a total amount of $100,000.
