$100,000 Settlement For Motor Vehicle Accident

Results may vary depending on your particular facts and legal circumstances.

A 36-year-old plaintiff was traveling in the left westbound lane on Route 280. At the same time, a Honda Civic owned and operated by defendant was traveling directly behind Plaintiff in his lane of travel, while speeding and tailgating Plaintiff’s vehicle, at the aforementioned location. Plaintiff attempted to switch lanes from the left lane to the right lane. Defendant attempted to switch lanes at the same time and struck Plaintiff’s vehicle in the rear at an excessive rate of speed without warning. The force of the impact was so great that it caused Plaintiff’s vehicle to spin uncontrollably across two (2) lanes of travel and crash into a pole off the roadway at a high rate of speed. Plaintiff injured his neck and underwent a fusion surgery. He was left with a 1.5-inch scar on the front of his neck and a 1-inch scar over his right anterior iliac crest and a metal plate with four screws permanently implanted in his cervical spine.

The case settled on February 20, 2019 for a total of $100,000, as to Defendant for the $25,000.00 policy limit and then with Plaintiff’s insurer for the remaining $75,000 in underinsured motorist coverage.
