Stilianos “Steli” Cambilis is an Associate in the Family and Matrimonial Practice Group at Einhorn Barbarito. He represents clients in complex family law matters, including divorce proceedings involving significant assets, business interests, and sensitive financial issues. Known for his strategic judgment, discretion, and careful preparation, Steli guides clients through difficult personal and financial transitions while protecting their long-term interests.
His practice includes matters involving equitable distribution, alimony, child support, and other contested financial issues. Steli also litigates child custody and parenting time disputes, including modification and enforcement applications, and handles non-dissolution family matters involving custody and support. He regularly appears in post-judgment proceedings and motion practice addressing emergent relief, discovery disputes, and other substantive family law issues.
Clients value Steli for his responsiveness, thoughtful counsel, and steady approach to complex disputes. He works closely with each client to develop practical strategies tailored to their personal, professional, and financial priorities.
In addition to his family law practice, Steli has experience representing clients in criminal defense matters, civil litigation, and appeals. This broader litigation background informs his approach to family law disputes and strengthens his advocacy when matters involve complex legal or procedural issues.
Steli is also active in the Greek Orthodox community and maintains close ties within that network. He regularly assists individuals, families, and churches within the community, earning the trust of clients who value both discretion and a strong sense of personal connection.
Before entering private practice, Steli served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Hany A. Mawla in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division. He has been recognized in the New Jersey Rising Stars list since 2021 and in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America since 2023 for his work in Family Law and Municipal Law.
