The program will consist of four separate panel sessions in which key public officials and staffers provide insight on their priorities and offer ideas regarding how the executive and legislative branches of the New Jersey state government work. The discussion that Mr. Snyder will be moderating is the first one of the day and is entitled Compromise, Consensus and Concurrence: A Case Study of the Legislative Process; members of the panel include Timothy P. Lydon, Deputy Executive Director, Senate Democratic Officer, the Honorable Edward J. McBride, Jr., J.S.C. former Chief of Staff, David J. Lorette, Senior Counsel, Office of Legislative Services and Frank Dominquez, Chief Counsel, Senate Republican Office. Mr. Snyder and his distinguished panel will discuss the behind-the-scenes legislative process of how legislation gets drafted in the state of New Jersey including sponsorship of the bill, review by the Office of Legislative Services and all of the steps that the legislation takes prior to reaching the Governor of New Jersey’s Office.
