Einhorn Barbarito is a long-time supporter of the Denville, New Jersey schools and Valleyview Middle School’s participation in the New Jersey State Bar Foundation Law Adventure Program. The program is designed to foster critical thinking skills and to teach seventh and eighth grade students about the legal system in New Jersey. For thirteen years, Einhorn Barbarito Partner Tim Ford has served as a volunteer attorney advisor and the firm has provided financial support for the program.
This year the students were asked to create cases based on Second Amendment issues or technological invasion of privacy. “The Law Adventure program provides the themes and a precise format, but students must create their cases entirely from scratch. I am fascinated by the creativity of the students who not only present a complete case, but create the facts and witnesses,” said Tim. “It is an absolute pleasure to see the progress that the students make throughout the school year.”
This year, Tim helped lead Valleyview Middle School to a third-place finish among all of the eighth-grade submissions throughout the state of New Jersey. On May 9, 2022, the students presented their case to the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, and Tim attended a Denville Board of Education meeting with the students and their advisor Alison Minion, presenting Board president Mike Andersen with a $1,200 check from Einhorn Barbarito in further support of the program.
