On Thursday, April 4, 2013, Linda Mainenti-Walsh, Counsel to the law firm of Einhorn Barbarito as co-Chair of the Family Law Committee of the Morris County Bar Association will moderate a presentation on how to effectively create motions when involved in a family law practice for the Morris County Bar Association.

The seminar is designed for attorneys who practice matrimonial and family law and focuses on the motions and documents needed to effectively represent your client in these cases.  Ms. Walsh along with co-Chair, Stephanie F. Hagan, Esq. will lead four other Morris County attorneys and Family Law Court Judges in a program which discusses all of the various documents you need to know.  These motions include the rules of the family court governing preparation and filing of Motions, including the format certifications and exhibits.    There will be a discussion on what to include and what to leave out of a well-crafted Pendente Lite (pending litigation order documents) motion.   Another attorney will discuss post judgment modification motions, describing what constitutes substantial, non-temporary, and involuntary changes in circumstances and how to prove or defend again it.  Finally, the Morris County Judges will discuss the do’s and don’ts of a motion practice from their judicial perspective, how to argue a case in court and adjournment of the case.

The seminar, which will provide the continuing legal education credits for attorneys, will be held at the Morris County Administrative Building in Morristown from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on April 4th.

Ms. Mainenti-Walsh is a frequent lecturer on matrimonial and family law issues.  In addition she has been traveling around New Jersey presenting seminars and programs on Gender Bias in the New Jersey Courts.   She is Chair of the Bar Education Subcommittee of the Supreme Court Committee on Women in the Courts.  She has been involved in this committee since 2008.  She has been a guest on American Law Journal TV, quoted in the New York Times on divorce issues and written for Divorce Magazine.
