Alejandra Gutierrez gained invaluable experience as a law clerk to two judges in the family division of the Superior Court of New Jersey.
During her clerkship with the Honorable Mark A. Baber, J.S.C., Alejandra honed her knowledge in domestic violence, best interest of the child factors and other relevant standards needed to be weighed in order to establish custody, as well as parenting time and child support. She has also served as a law clerk to The Honorable Anne Marie Bramnick, J.S.C., where she focused on domestic violence issues, changes in law regarding decisions of child custody, relevant standards for relocation and third-party custody cases.
Alejandra has successfully mediated many non-dissolution cases and prepared legal guardianship matters for allegedly legally incompetent persons.
In addition to family law, Alejandra also has experience in residential real estate law, including transactions and finance. She has worked with real estate attorneys, realtors and title companies to clear and close real estate transactions, and has worked on probate matters and zoning applications.
While at Seton Hall University School of Law, Alejandra served as vice president of the Latin American Law Students Association. She was also on the Diversity Task Force, served as the Sports and Entertainment Club Treasurer, and worked as a Seton Hall Law Clinic Translator where she helped fellow students translate documents in Spanish and interview their clients.
