Plaintiff, age sixty-one (61) at the time of this accident and right-hand dominant finished her evening shift as cashier in a retail store. As Plaintiff was walking in the parking lot of the property, toward the employee parking designated area, she slipped and fell on black ice, landing directly on her left elbow sustaining serious injuries, including a broken elbow which required two surgeries and potentially a third in the future, as well as a tear in her left shoulder. The Defendants, snow removal companies, argued that the grade of the lot and structural barriers prevented proper snow removal. The case settled for a total amount of $ 307,000.00.
