$242,000 Total Settlement For Motor Vehicle Accident

Plaintiff was thirty-four (34) years of age at the time of this accident and was traveling eastbound on Route 10 in the right lane in Hanover Township, New Jersey. Defendant was traveling directly behind Plaintiff’ s vehicle when he negligently, carelessly, and recklessly operated the aforesaid motor vehicle by failing to maintain a reasonably safe following distance, failing to make proper observations, and/or otherwise failing to take evasive action, causing him to violently strike the rear of Plaintiff’ s vehicle while he was attempting to change lanes to the left. As a result of this accident, Plaintiff sustained aggravations, exacerbations, and/or acceleration of a pre-existing neck injuries. Plaintiff did not initially seek medical treatment following this accident because he was under the mistaken impression that he was suffering from soreness that would resolve on its own. It soon became evident, however, that he would require immediate medical attention as his pain increased in frequency and intensity. He attempted conservative care and epidural steroid injections, without relief. He thereafter underwent an anterior C4-C5 and C5-C6 discectomy and fusion procedure with instrumentation, performed by Dr. John Cifelli. The case settled for a total amount of $ 242,000.00.
