Einhorn Barbarito is pleased to announce Partner Matheu D. Nunn has been selected as one of three finalists for the New Jersey Law Journal’s 2017 “Attorney of the Year Award.” This prestigious award recognizes an attorney who has had the greatest impact on the law, the legal profession or the cause of justice in New Jersey over the past year.

According to the Law Journal, its editorial staff, with assistance from an outside panel of distinguished practitioners, narrowed a lengthy and formidable list of nominees down to three finalists.

Nunn and his fellow nominees will be recognized for this award on June 20, 2017, at the Law Journal’s Professional Excellence Awards Dinner at Brooklake Country Club in Florham Park.

The event will also feature numerous other recognitions for Professional Excellence, including New Leaders of the Bar, Lifetime Achievement honorees and Legal and Litigation Departments of the Year.

“We are delighted, but not surprised, to learn that Mat has been selected as a finalist for the Law Journal’s Attorney of the Year Award,” says Einhorn Barbarito Managing Partner Patricia M. Barbarito. “Mat has been an integral part of our firm since the day he joined us, and we are thrilled that our colleagues at the New Jersey Law Journal have also recognized the diligence and dedication that he brings to our firm day in and day out,” says Barbarito.

Nunn, who joined Einhorn Barbarito as an Associate in 2011 and made Partner in January 2016, handles matrimonial litigation and a variety of appellate matters. Between public and private practice, Nunn has tried both jury and bench trials and has been counsel of record in more than 35 Appellate Division or Supreme Court matters, including published decisions in Quinn v. Quinn, 225 N.J. 34 (2016); in re Child by J.E.V., 226, N.J. 90 (2016); in Bisbing v. Bisbing, 445 N.J. Super. 207 (App. Div. 2016); in re Adoption of Child by J.E.V., 442 N.J. Super. 472 (App. Div. 2015); and in Clark v. Clark, 429 N.J. Super. 61 (App. Div. 2012).

Nunn earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Delaware. He attended Rutgers School of Law-Camden, where he earned “with Honors” distinction and was an editor of the Law Review. Following law school, Nunn clerked for the Honorable B. Theodore Bozonelis, the Assignment Judge for Morris and Sussex Counties, and, subsequently, for the Honorable Jack M. Sabatino, now a Presiding Judge of the Appellate Division of New Jersey. Following his clerkship with Judge Sabatino, Nunn joined the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, where he worked as an Assistant Prosecutor in the Appellate Unit and Major Crimes Unit.

Nunn has been selected for inclusion on the New Jersey Super Lawyer Rising Star List in appellate practice, family law and criminal law. He has also received an AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell (the highest possible rating). Most recently, Nunn was selected to the New Jersey Law Journal’s 2015 New Leaders of the Bar.
