Denville, NJ

In August 2016, Plaintiff operating a motor vehicle when the Defendant disregarded a stop sign and pulled out directly in front of Plaintiff’s vehicle.

As a result of this accident, Plaintiff was transported via ambulance to the hospital complaining of pain to her head, neck, shoulders, upper body, abdomen, left knee, left clavicle. Due to the nature and extent of her injuries, after examination in the emergency room, she was admitted to the trauma section of the hospital. There were extensive tests performed of an obstetrical nature due to the fact that Plaintiff was twenty-one (21) weeks pregnant. She was discharged from the hospital on August 11, 2016 and thereafter consulted a chiropractor where she complained of neck pain, in addition to left shoulder pain and headaches. In response to her complaints, she immediately commenced conservative treatment which consisted of chiropractic care and physical therapy. While in the hospital she was diagnosed with C3-C4 disc bulge with left-sided foraminal narrowing. During the course of her treatment, she then underwent an EMG/NCV study which revealed evidence of right C5, C6 radiculopathy.

As to Plaintiff’s shoulder injuries, she consulted with an orthopedist in March 2017 and was indicated for an MRI of her left shoulder and to continue physical therapy. That MRI revealed a partial tear of the supraspinatus tendon on the left shoulder. As a result to these findings, she was administered a cortisone injection into her left shoulder. This cortisone injection did little to relieve her pain and she was recommended for and ultimately underwent left shoulder arthroscopy.
When the course of conservative treatment failed to relieve her neck pain, she sought treatment with a neurosurgeon. She was recommended for and received an epidural steroid injection, continued treatment for her un-operated right shoulder and underwent a cortisone injection as well. When that cortisone injection failed to alleviate her right shoulder pain, she was recommended for and underwent right shoulder arthroscopy.

The case settled for $150,000.00, prior to the scheduling of a trial.
